What is Descriptive Text?

1.     1.      The Definition and Purpose of Descriptive Text

Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

1.     2.      The Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

Descriptive text has structure as below:

• Identification; identifying the phenomenon to be described.
• Description; describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or/and characteristics.

1.     3.      The Language Feature of Descriptive Text

• Using attributive and identifying process.
• Using adjective and classifiers in nominal group.

Generic Structure Descriptive Text Ketika menulis descriptive text, ada beberapa susunan umum / generic structure (sebenarnya tidak wajib) agar tulisan kita dianggap benar. Susunan tersebut adalah :

Identification : berisi tentang identifikasi sesuatu, baik makhluk hidup ataupun benda mati yang akan dideskripsikan.

 Description : berisi tentang penjelasan / penggambaran tentang sesuatu, baik makhluk hidup ataupun benda mati, dengan menyebutkan beberapa gambaran, sifat, karakter, atau apapun yang berhubungan dengan deskripsi sesuatu yang dimaksud.

 

Identification: contains the identification of something, either living beings or inanimate objects will be described.
  Description: contains the description / depiction of something, either living beings or inanimate objects, with a few picture, nature, character, or anything related to the description of something that meant.

The tips how to write a good descriptive text:

• make the reader imagine the situation. For make the reader can imagine the situation you have to add adjective. 
• Give additional information. The information should interesting, example: the weather, the special thing from what you'll describe

• ·         Make an interaction with the reader, example you add question words (see?, how about that?)

Descriptive

                                                            My MOTHER

        My mother is a beautiful person. She is not tall but not short, and she has curly hair and brown. Her eyes color are like honey and her color skin color light brown, andshe has a beautiful smile. Her weight likes 120 lbs.
        She is a very kind person. She is very lovely, friendly, patient, and she loves to help people. I love my mom, because she is a good example to me. She loves being in the Church, and she loves sing and dance too. 
       She is a very good child, wife and mother. She always takes care of her family. She likes her house to be clean and organized. She a very organized person, and all things in the house are in the right place. She doesn't like messes. 
      She always has a smile on her face. She is so sweet and lovely. I like when I am going to sleep or went I wake up or when I am going to go to some places, she always give me a kiss, and when the family have a problem she always be with us to helps us and to give us all her love.

Ibu saya adalah orang yang indah. Dia tidak tinggi tetapi tidak pendek, dan dia memiliki rambut keriting dan coklat. Nya warna mata seperti madu dan kulitnya warna cahaya warna coklat, andshe memiliki senyum yang indah. Berat badannya suka £ 120.
         Dia adalah orang yang sangat baik. Dia sangat indah, ramah, sabar, dan dia suka membantu orang. Saya suka ibu saya, karena dia adalah contoh yang baik bagi saya. Dia mencintai berada di Gereja, dan dia mencintai bernyanyi dan menari juga.
        Dia adalah anak yang sangat baik, istri dan ibu. Dia selalu mengurus keluarganya. Dia suka rumahnya menjadi bersih dan terorganisir. Dia orang yang sangat terorganisir, dan semua hal di rumah berada di tempat yang tepat. Dia tidak suka messes.
       Dia selalu memiliki senyum di wajahnya. Dia begitu manis dan indah. Saya suka ketika saya akan tidur atau pergi aku bangun atau ketika saya akan pergi ke beberapa tempat, ia selalu memberikan ciuman, dan ketika keluarga memiliki masalah dia selalu bersama kita untuk membantu kita dan memberi kita semua cintanya.
